Nelson Spence is the founder of Project Navi, where he builds software and conducts independent research in AI security, formal verification, and dynamical systems. His work examines how intelligent systems behave and what can be rigorously established about them. Drawing on seven years of behavioral health research and peer support, he brings a perspective grounded in autonomy and self-determination to questions of AI development and governance. His central concern is whether technology strengthens people’s capacity to understand, decide, and act for themselves.
